A Message From The Artist
Hi, I'm Teresa Bernard. Welcome to my online design and art studio where I showcase my original works of art. I'm a commercial artist in addition to being a fine artist. I make my living working as a graphic and Website designer however, fine art is my passion, and in my spare time I love to work on my oil paintings.
I'm considered a realism artist since my approach to a subject matter is to portray it in a realistic way. I will never take a painting to the point of photorealism. I love the charm of a well composed painting when it actually looks like a painting and not a photograph. Therefore, all my paintings would be categorized as realism art.
My favorite subjects to paint are places I've visited. I love to do paintings of other subjects as well. Since I enjoy painting a variety of subjects (landscapes, seascapes, still life, etc.), I can not be categorized as merely a landscape, seascape, or still life artist, etc. In addition, I paint entirely from photographs rather than copy the work of other fine artists. Because of this I've developed my own artistic style through the years.
I use oil paint as my medium. It is a very traditional form of painting. All of the Old Masters used oils when they painted. I love the work of the Old Masters and someday I hope to be as much of an accomplished artist as they. Oil paintings are also the most loved form of art by both modern day artisans and art collectors alike.
